a day boating on the Delta
Sun 20 Jul 2008 - Filed under: Family, Life — saintamyjane

Today we went out on a friend’s boat out on the Delta. She is actually a coworker also. I’m not the water and sun type. Used to be when I was a kid. I wanted to go to kick it with my friend, meet her husband and friend, and see my daughter and husband have a good time swimming and fishing.

I had fun just kicking it. I don’t know if I was a damper since I didn’t swim or anything, but its just not for me. I just enjoyed the boat ride.

I was actually in the sun for longer than I usually am. I don’t like the sun much. I’m such a vampire. I managed not to get burned by slathering on sunblock spf 50. I also spent a lot of time on the beach in the shade.

So I had fun. Perhaps if I participated in swimming and all that it would have been more fun. Its just not for me.

Yeah, So I’m Back

A couple weeks ago I was frantic with finding a new job. Taking pictures of cars in all sorts of weather just wasn’t cutting it. I threw out my ambitions of being a professional web designer, because I really don’t like designing for people anyway and I even quit school, for now. I had to pull myself up by my bootstraps and get a job. And boy did I.

I am making good money and I move a lot. Yes I am happy with that. I was always at the computer, now I just read the news. I hate sitting all the time, it messes up my back, and I gain weight x;(. The job consists of Shipping and Receiving, what I used to do. Plus I get to utilize my background (kinda) in Semiconductor and Electronics. So I will be blogging about me, my family, pets and well, just normal stuff and normal life.

I’ll have my weekends back and my evenings with my family. We also had to give up homeschooling, which is disappointing, but we wouldn’t be able to carry on with that. Although I still can’t stand this school district, I hope there is a good elementary school SOMEWHERE around here. The kiddo will be back in public school by next week.

I am happy now. I have a job I like and can tolerate, I am making good money and we can pay bills AND have fun again. x;)

R.I.P. Heath Ledger
Wed 23 Jan 2008 - Filed under: Family, Life, Movies — saintamyjane

I was never a weird insane fan, but a fan I was. I always admired him becasue he didn’t take every movie role and he seemed to steer himself away from doing anymore teen movies. I loved him in the Patriot, his performance in Monsters Ball was great and A Knights Tale was funny to say the least. I have been meaning to see Cassanova since it came out, but haven’t yet. And then there is Brokeback Mountain which I still need to see. Once in awhile I would look him up on the internet to see what he was up to because he just didn’t force himself down peoples throats. I was actually reading recently that he was going to be the new Joker in the new Batman movie coming out this summer. I really thought that was a brilliant decision by whoever casted him. I knew as soon as I read that my interest was renewed in Batman.

It is a shame that some one so talented and seemed like such a great guy could go like that. Its a shame when anyone goes, but I think this was different. He wasn’t a drug addict and he wasn’t plastered all over the tabloids. I will probably have a Heath Ledger movie-a-thon.

My family’s thoughts and well wishes go out to Heath’s Family and Friends. I know he was more to them than he was to his audience, but we appreciated him just the same.

School Houserock

We are watching Schoolhouse Rock right now. I remember these from when I was a kid during Saturday morning cartoons. It brings back memories. Now my daughter gets to enjoy it thanks to home video :)

“Five-ten-fifteen-twenty-twenty five- thirty…” HA HA that is just great.  Or how about “I’m just a bill sittin’ here on Capital Hill” or “Rufus Xavier Sarsaparilla”. Its great entertainment… even after all these years.

My knight in shining armor
Wed 16 Jan 2008 - Filed under: Family, Life — saintamyjane

So my husband has 2 jobs now. Do I feel bad? yes I do. We have been having all sorts of issues, but now I think I realize that he does love me. I know he wouldn’t do that for anybody else or for any other reason. I am going to continue to work my part time job and take care of the family. I guess thats what I have been pushing for.

Now that he has this second job, we can get something straightened up and get pregnant this year. If anyone knows anything about me its that I have big time Hypermesis Gravidarum issues and I need total rest and NO stress. I really want to have another child before I get too old and dry up. Plus I don’t want to be old with a young child. I guess I have waited awhile, but really it was for the best.

Anyway he is making this allpossible. He has really stepped up after all the problems and drama.

I think I have finally found my knight in shining armor.  x;) He was under my nose all along.

I made myself
Tue 8 Jan 2008 - Filed under: Automotive, Career, Family, Health & Beauty, Parenting, Pets, WTF?, Weather, Women Issues — saintamyjane

I had to make myself get out of bed this morning. But I did get out of bed… I pryed myself out, threw coffee down my throat and proceeded to holler at animals, rattle on nervously about the day ahead of me and anxiously, shower. I had gotten a brief charge out of going out today. But thats the exhibitionist in me, which was quickly squashed by the nervous wreck in me. So, it made for an interesting day.

My daughter was along for the ride and she keeps me sane and occupied as if the work wasn’t enough. Oh yes… lets add that to my list of weird things… parenting at work. I know a lot of us women do it these days, but when I got to talk through my teeth at my kid because she is out towards the side walk when she should be closer to the  inside of the car lot. Or because she is in the way of a picture of a car i’m trying to take, or because shes just farting around. It keeps my mind off the crap that has me down. Seriously. x:|

We get to stay home tomorrow because its going to rain like the end times and I’m ready for it!

Late… Saturday Morning Cartoon - Commercial
Sun 25 Nov 2007 - Filed under: Family, Sat. Morn. Cartoons, Toys — saintamyjane

I remember wanting toys that I seen during commercial breaks of my favorite cartoons. One of the earliest obsessions of mine was the Cabbage Patch Kid doll. Anyway we all know about the “i want that toy” during the commercial break. I mean our kids do it now. I didn’t get a cabbage patch kid until I was about 11, but the “wanting started when I was like 6 or 7. Oh yes I was so deprived (that was sarcastic if you didn’t pick up on the tone).

Anyway here is a abbage patch commercial I posted at my Orble blog.

Click here for the cabbage patch kid commercial.
